Research Interests:

Physico-chemical properties of systems of biological and pharmacological interest: optical properties and conformation of hemoproteins; model systems for malaria pigment formation.

Abstracts of Current Research:

Heme compounds and drug-ferriheme interactions:

Physiochemical properties of ferriheme polymers are being investigated with reference to the formation and structure of malaria pigment. Investigations of complexes of ferriheme with antimalarial drugs which include their physicochemical properties and the mechanism of drug action.
